Arrival to Addis Ababa international airport and a warm welcoming and greetings by one of our tour guide and, transfer to the hotel
Day 1
Early in the morning, depart on early flight for Bahir Dar (07:00). After arrival, take a boat trip on Lake Tana to visit a selection of the monasteries hidden on the islands and shores of this sacred lake. Visit the Zege Penninsula and the monasteries of Azuwa Maryam and Ura Kidane Mehret and the island monastery of Debre Maryam near the outlet of the Blue Nile River. In the afternoon, drive out to the Blue Nile Falls for a short hike in the area. Finish the day with the sunset over the lake. Overnight in Bahir Dar (hotel).
Day 2
After breakfast, continue north to Gondar. The four-hour drive will take you through rural villages, offering wonderful insight into the Amhara culture. After briefly settling in your hotel, explore the sites of Gondar, including a visit to the Royal Enclosure, with six castles and several other buildings. Additionally, visit Fasilidas’s Pool, still used for Timket celebrations today, Ras Gimb Palace Museum and the Debre Birhan Selassie church, with the most famous ceiling in Ethiopia. Overnight in Gondar (hotel).
Day 3
Breakfast. Drive to Debark in simien National park.Attempt to catch the view of pasturing Jelads and trekking in a beautiful simien mountain..An overnight in Sanaka ber campsite in mountains.
Day 4
Breakfast.Observing an early sunrise. Drive down and go through valleys to Gonder. Late arrival for the overnight in a hotel in Gonder.
Day 5
Early morning flight to Axum (07:45). Upon arrival to Axum, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Today will be a full day visiting the sites of Axum, including the famous obelisks (one that was recently erected after being returned from Italy) and the archeological museum, the Queen of Sheba’s Bath (which supplies water to Axum year-round), Ezana’s enscription, King Kaleb’s tomb, King Bazen’s tomb, and the Queen of Sheba’s Palace. You can also visit the St. Mary of Zion church, where the Ark of the Covenant is kept. Men only are allowed to enter the old church. Unfortunately, no one (except one specially chosen guardian monk) is allowed to enter the chapel where the Ark is kept. Overnight in Axum (hotel).
Day 6
Depart on an early morning flight to Lalibela (08:00), the most famous of all of the Ethiopian historical sites.Start your tour of the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, visiting the Northwestern Cluster of churches - Bet Medhane Alem, Bet Maryam, Bet Meskel, Bet Danaghel, Bet Mikael & Bet Golgotha (entry not permitted for women). visit the Southeastern Cluster of churches – Bet Gabriel-Rufael, Bet Merkorios, Bet Amanual, and Bet Abba Libanos. Finally, you will visit the most famous of all the churches – Bet Giyorgis, constructed in honor of the patron saint of Ethiopia – Saint George. Overnight in Lalibela (hotel).
Day 7
In the morning, proceed to the airport for the return flight back to Addis Ababa (09:00). Site seeing in Addis and visiting the national museum and ethnographic museum, In the evening you will attend a folkloric dinner where you will be able to taste Ethiopian national food and watch dances of the various ethnic groups of Ethiopia. Later this evening you will be transferred to bole international airport for your departure
Day 8
?Breakfast. Drive to Abraminch. First contact with Southerian Ethiopia scenery. Overnight in hotel in Abra Minch.
DAY 9 : Turmi
?Breakfast. Drive to Gesergio- sightseeing of so called “New York”. Drive to Mecheke, visit in Kosno village and Tsemai tribe. Supper, overnight in hotel in Jinka.
DAY 10: Jinka
After breakfast drive to Mago National Park. Visit in Mursi Village. Visit in Ari village. Ethnographic musem. Overnight in Jinka.
DAY 11: Jinka
Breakfast. Drive trough land that tribe Banna live there, drive to Omorate. Visit at traditional market. Boat trip on another riverside of Omo River. Visit in a villige of Desanecz tribe. Overnight in hotel in Abra Minch.After lunch drive to Turmi and visit in the village of Hamer tribe. Overnight in a camp in Turmi or lodge
DAY 12: Arbaminch
?After breakfast drive to Abra Minch. Visit in a village of Arbore. Wiew at cotton culvitations. Overnight in Abra Minch in a hotel.
DAY 13: Arbaminch
Breakfast. Drive to Chencha-visit at the village of Dorze tribe.Boat trip on Chomo Lake. Supper, Overnbight in Abra Minch.
DAY 14:
Breakfast. Drive back through Butajira to Addis Abeba. Transfer to the Airport.
This itinerary is flexible, and will likely change in order to coordinate visits with market days in the south, which is a great opportunity to mingle with the people, many of whom travel long distances on foot to attend.
